Monday madness at Inflatable World

What an awesome way to begin a week! We had so much fun at Inflatable World. After two hours of high energy activities, I still had moans and groans when it was time to leave. I was super impressed with the behaviour of our senior children, they were just that fantastic! You should all feel very proud of yourselves. You showed others what it is like to be a true 'Star' at Waltham school.

Extra homework challenge
Room 7 it would be good to share your thoughts about our trip. Post a comment and don't forget to leave your name. A good opportunity to earn extra house points for your houses. Don't forget to re-read, re-craft and edit your posts before you click 'publish'

Clever Girls

Check out what Mary-Angel and Valelia do in their 'Leisure time'. Mary-Angel has now taught this to the rest of the class with Valelia's help. I'm so proud of these two awesome girls!

'All cultures shine' Inquiry - How to make Koko Alaisa

Here is a gorgeous video of some pre school children making Koko Alaisa with their Teacher. This was one of the Samoan dishes we sampled on the second to last day of last term (using canned coconut cream and cocoa powder). It was such a hit! We had so many children from other classes stopping by for a bowl as well.

Perhaps something that you may like to make these holidays. Especially as the weather has been getting cooler. If you do decided to have a go at making this. Let me know how you get on.

Enjoy the rest of your holidays

Dancing like the stars

Next term Room 7 are participating in 'Dancing like the stars'. This is where we have professional dancers who come and teach a particular style of dance over 24 sessions. Our school has been lucky enough to activly participant in this event over the past few years. After we've completed our sessions we perform at an evening concert at the Aurora centre.
Next term we will be learning the Tango. We are fortunate to have Graham and Gloria as our dance teachers. Graham and Gloria have already popped into room 7 to meet us and had a fabulous conversation in Spanish with Alex.
It was lovely to see Alex using his first language in our class. We all watched and listened intently. No doubt we will pick up some Spanish along the way.
I hope Room 7 you are as excited as I am.

Remember these two habits from our class treaty,
"We come to school with a smile and try our best" and "We help each other be the best we can be"
